Ippocalyptica Indeed, where is everybody? This is the sort of riff-dominant, aggressive, and angular black metal that calls to mind the likes of Funeral Mist and Immortal, but with more robust production value than both, which is why this constantly feels like it is on the verge of caving in your skull. Bonus points to Enepsigos for making the few slower-tempo sections kick almost as much ass as the rip-roaring blasting sequences, too. Few bands create swan songs as strong as Wrath of Wraths! Favorite track: Water And Flesh.

Enepsigos was formed in 2015 by V.I.T.H.R and Thorns. Their debut album "Plague Of Plagues" was released in 2017 by Drakkar Productions.
They added new guitarist Rituul and wrote their sophomore album "Wrath Of Wraths" and gained a record deal with infamous Osmose Productions. The new album was released january 2020!

Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer

Литоургиiа réussit l'impensable : faire entrer le black metal dans l'église orthodoxe. S'il y a une dimension dramaturgique (indissociable de tout office religieux), Литоургиiа reste profond, solennel et touche le sublime. Après la sortie de cet album a lieu un Grand Schisme et un larcin : Христофор se fait dépouiller de son propre groupe par Барфоломей et Мартин ; tout ce qui reste ici provient de ces deux hérétiques. La traversée du désert n'aura pas duré quarante jours mais quatre longues années... Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts. Sa vision est englobante : les mélodies, la gravité et le silence font toucher le paradis ; l'agressivité est luciférienne. Jordan Vauvert
